LADY CHARGERS COMPETE AT COACH OMELTCHENKO INVITATIONAL

Kings Point, N.Y. (4/19/15) The Dominican College women's track and field team traveled to the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy today. The team finished with a total of 29 team points to finish in 10th place.

Kings Point, N.Y. (4/19/15)  The Dominican College women's track and field team traveled to the Coach Omeltchenko Invitational hosted by the United States Merchant Marine Academy today.  The team finished with a total of 29 team points to finish in 10th place.

Sophomore Gina Yannette (Dumont, N.J.) had the high finish of the day for the Lady Chargers as she won the javelin throw with a throw of 33.92m (111 feet 3.4 inches).

Kim Koeder (Schwaebisch Hall, Germany) took ninth place in the 400m dash with a time of 1:06.82.  Sister Ina Koeder (Schwaebisch Hall, Germany) finished in 11th place with a time of 1:08.41 and Andrea Zuluaga (North Bergen, N.J.) took 17th place with a time of 1:16.76.

Erica Pate (Bronx, N.Y.) competed in the 100m dash where she finished in 19th place with a time of 1:46.72.  Teammate Jamie McGinn (Philadelphia, Pa.) took 22nd place with a time of 1:48.57.

I. Koeder and K. Koeder tied for 12 place in the 800m run with a time of 2:47.50, while Zuluaga took 8th place with a time of 2:57.47.

Khadijah Cox (New Milford, N.J.) ran the 200m dash in a time of 27.06 to take eighth place, while Felicia Walker (Bronx, N.Y.) took 14th place with a time of 28.72.

Sophomore Emily Lopez (Staten Island, N.Y.) ran in the 5000m run where she finished in seventh place with a time of 21:08.94.

Cox tied for second place in the long jump with a jump of 4.93m.  McGinn finished in 11th place with a jump of 4.15 m and K. Koeder took 13th place with a jump of 3.71m.

Senior Brittany Austin (Highland Mills, N.Y.) took third place in the discus throw with a throw of 31.63m (103 feet 9.3 inches).  Simonne Moore (Bronx, N.Y.) took 15th place with a throw of 18.88m (61 feet 11.3 inches). 

In the shot put event, Moore took sixth place with a throw of 10.06m (33 feet 00.25 inches).  Yannette finished in ninth place with a throw of 9.50m (31 feet 2.0 inches), while Austin took 11th place with a throw of 8.86m (29 feet 00.81 inches).

The women's 4x100 relay team of Pate, Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.), Walker and Cox competed, but did not finish.

I. Koeder and McKenzie John (Lafayette, La.) also took part in the high jump, but finished with no height scores.
