2023-24 Dominican University New York Women’s Tennis Summary

 

 

In their fifth season of competition, the women’s tennis squad finished the fall with an overall record of 2-10 and a 2-8 record in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC).

 

 

The Lady Chargers finished in fifth place in the conference under third-year head coach, Da’Tekena Barango Tariah. 

 

 

Senior Bipasha Mehn was named 2023 CACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and was named to the CACC Women’s Tennis All-Conference First Team. Mehn finished with an overall singles record of 6-4 and doubles record of 6-3 with teammate Selina Donecker.

 

 

In the ITA East Region Tournament held in Flushing, N.Y. in September, Mehn made it to the round of 16 and was ranked eighth in the ITA East Regional Rankings in November 2023.   

 

 

Mehn along with Ava O’Brien and Rupkatha Mukherjee were named to the CACC Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team.

 

 

Mehn and Donecker were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.

 

 

Preeti Koli, Ava O’Brien, and Lia Sarjveladze were each inducted into the Dominican University New York Sigma Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.

 

 

The team is expected to return most of this year’s roster.
