Philadelphia, Pa. (3/23/21) The Dominican College women's tennis team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to host, University of the Sciences, 5-2, this afternoon in a match played at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center.
Philadelphia, Pa. (3/23/21) The Dominican College women's tennis team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to host, University of the Sciences, 5-2, this afternoon in a match played at the Legacy Youth Tennis and Education Center.
Following the loss, Dominican is now 0-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The #1 doubles team of Isha Mbaye (New Orleans, La.) and Mariana Ling (Orlando, Fla.) won their match by the score of 6-2, but a forfeit and a Devil win in second doubles gave University of the Sciences the point awarded for doubles play.
In the #1 singles spot, freshman Steffy Espejo (Tunja, Colombia) picked up her first collegiate win as she bested her opponent, 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 to get the Lady Chargers on the scoreboard.
Ling recorded her second win of the day in the #2 singles spot as she defeated her opponent by the scores of 3-7, 7-5, 10-3.
Dominican is scheduled to return to action on Sunday afternoon when they host Chestnut Hill College.
