RAMS TOPS WOMEN'S TENNIS
Pearl River, N.Y. (3/20/21) The Dominican College women's tennis team fell in their opening match of the 2021 season to the visiting Rams of Thomas Jefferson University, 6-1, in a match played at Cherry Brook Park.
Pearl River, N.Y. (3/20/21) The Dominican College women's tennis team fell in their opening match of the 2021 season to the visiting Rams of Thomas Jefferson University, 6-1, in a match played at Cherry Brook Park.
Dominican now stands at 0-1 overall, while the Rams improve to 1-1.
Jefferson picked up the doubles point as they received the win by forfeit in third doubles and took second doubles by the score of 6-1. Dominican earned their first doubles win of the season as the first doubles team of Isha Mbaye (New Orleans, La.) and Mariana Ling (Orlando, Fla.) rallied to upend their opponents, 6-4.
In singles, Ling earned her first collegiate win in the second singles spot. She won the opening set, 7-6 before falling in set two 6-4. In the tiebreaker, Ling brought it home with a 10-4 win to give the Lady Chargers their first point of the season.
DC is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to the University of the Sciences.
