LADY CHARGERS FALL TO PURPLE KNIGHTS IN SEASON FINALE

Bridgeport, Conn. (11/4/25) The Dominican University New York women's soccer team wrapped up the 2025 season on the road against the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport on Knight Field. 

The Purple Knights defeated the Lady Chargers by a score of 3-0 in this win and you're in contest as they secure the #7 seed in the CACC Tournament.

The Purple Knights scored one goal in the first half and added two insurance goals in the second half on their way to the victory.

DU keeper Stella Paton made five saves but suffered the loss. UB keeper picked up two saves and the shutout victory. 

The Purple Knights got on the board in the sixth minute when Luiza Macedo found the back of the net. Two second half goals by Manuela Macedo and Emely Zelayandia extended the lead to 3-0. Luiza Macedo and Emely Zelayandia picked up the double assist on the second UB goal. 

Shelby Parks led the Lady Chargers in shots with three while Asia Lebon finished with two shots. 

The Purple Knights held the edge in shots 14-9 while the Lady Chargers held the edge in corner kicks 8-5. 

The Lady Chargers finish the 2025 season with an overall record of 4-11-3 and a conference record of 3-7-1.
