Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/20/21) The Dominican College women's soccer team took down the Bears of Bloomfield College in a 2-0 shutout.
The Chargers now stand with a record of 7-5 (6-2 CACC) and the Bears fall to 2-9 (0-7 CACC).
Lauren Drummond (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada) and Lynne Garofalo (Ridgefield, N.J.) split time in goal for the Chargers. Garofalo recorded three saves. Drummond improves to 6-2 overall on the season.
The Chargers took 24 total shots as a team with nine recorded on goal. Isabella Wysocki (Rahway, N.J.) took a team-high six shots. Stella Koster (Saarbruecken, Germany) and Alissa Madura (Warwick, N.Y.) added three shots.
The Chargers scored both goals in the first half. The first goal was scored by Alyana Gonel (Teaneck, N.J.) at the 29:02 mark. The Chargers extended the lead to 2-0 when Stella Koster scored at the 32:16 mark. Danai Chimedza (Atlanta, Ga.) earned an assist on the first goal and Alissa Madura added an assist on the second goal.
The Chargers held the 2-0 lead throughout the rest of the game and earned the shutout win.
The Chargers will be back in action when they host Wilmington University on Friday, October 22nd at 11:30 PM.
