Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/12/18) The Dominican College women's soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime draw with the visiting Warriors of Nyack College this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played on OMM FIeld #5.

Nyack was first to score with a goal in the 21st minute to take a 1-0 lead and would take the lead into the locker room at the half.

The Lady Chargers tied the score in the 48th minute as forward Taylor Calero (New City, N.Y.) netted the unassisted goal off a shot from 12 yards out, but the Warriors would regain the lead in the 61st minute on a penalty kick opportunity.

Freshman foward Megan Geary (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) scored her first collegiate goal at the 74:23 mark on a thru ball from Abby Montera (New City, N.Y.), which she was able to chip over the goalie's head to force overtime.

NC had one shot in the first overtime period and held the 3-2 edge in the second overtime, but neither team was able to score and the game ended in the 2-2 tie.

Both teams had 16 shots in the game, while the Lady Chargers held the 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Keeper Angelica Contreras (Baytown, Texas) made six saves.

Dominican will host Goldey-Beacom College this coming Saturday.  Kickoff is slated for 2:30 pm on the DC Soccer Field.
