Caldwell, N.J. (10/12/16) In a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game that featured 10 total goals, the Dominican College women's soccer team fell to the host, Caldwell University, 7-3, this afternoon in a game played at Caldwell Field.
The first half featured eight goals with the Cougars claiming five of them. Dominican got on the scoreboard at 11:59 as junior Kaitlyn Montera* (New City, N.Y.) scored her second goal of the year on a shot from 25 yards out.
Trailing 3-1, midfielder Jenna Gray (Pine Bush, N.Y.) netted her sixth goal of hte season on a chip shot pas the goalie at the 23:29 mark.
Montera later followed with her second game goal in the 36th minute to make the score 4-3. Caldwell tallied the last goal of the half to increase the lead to 5-3.
The Cougars scored two goals in the second half for the 7-3 win.
Following the loss, Dominican now stands at 4-9 overall and 4-5 in CACC play.
Sophomore Angelica Contreras (Baytown, Texas) made eight saves in the loss.
DC will travel to Georgian Court University this coming Saturday.
