WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT CONCORDIA COLLEGE

Bronxville, N.Y. (10/7/14) The Dominican College women's soccer team shut out host, Concordia College, 2-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at Holtdorf Soccer Field.

Bronxville, N.Y. (10/7/14)  The Dominican College women's soccer team shut out host, Concordia College, 2-0 this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at Holtdorf Soccer Field.

With the victory, Dominican improves to 3-4-2 overall and 3-2-2 in CACC play.

DC scored their first goal of the contest in the 30th minute as senior Melissa Messina (Hillsdale, N.J.) sent a header to teammate Elisa Falzarano (Roslyn Heights, N.Y.) and she took a shot that found the back of the net.

In the 60th minute, Jennifer Becker* (Hawthorne, N.J.) fired off a shot from inside the 18-yard box after a Concordia turnover for the 2-0 lead and eventual victory.

Dominican out shot their opponents, 17-8, and held a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.  Falzarano led the Lady Chargers with five shots.

Keeper Gina Yannette (Dumont, N.J.) made one save.

The Lady Chargers will travel to Georgian Court University this coming Saturday.  Kick-off is slated for 12pm.
