LADY CHARGERS BEAT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE BEARS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/10/14) The Dominican College women's soccer team improved to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Bears of Bloomfield College, 3-1, this afternoon in a game played at the DC Soccer Field.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/10/14) The Dominican College women's soccer team improved to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating the visiting Bears of Bloomfield College, 3-1, this afternoon in a game played at the DC Soccer Field.
Senior forward Melissa Messina (Hillsdale, N.J.) scored her first goal of the 2014 season on a shot from six yards out after the pass from Samantha Cala (Deer Park, N.Y.) for the 1-0 lead in the 27th minute of action.
BC tied the game at the 61:24 mark, but the Lady Chargers countered less then three minutes later as freshman Jamie Nevins (Blauvelt, N.Y.) netted her first collegiate goal from 20 yards outs.
Dominican went up 3-1 at 69:41 as forward Ciara Devaney (Bristol, Conn.) recorded her first collegiate goal on a shot within five yards of the goal off the assist from Nevins.
DC outshot the Bears, 13-7, while both teams had three corner kicks.
Goalie Gina Yannette (Dumont, N.J.) made six saves in the victory.
The Lady Chargers will travel to Philadelphia University for a CACC contest scheduled for a 12pm start.
