New Castle, DE (9/10/11) The Dominican College women's soccer team won their first game of the 2011 season after defeating host, Wilmington University, 3-2 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. With the victory, Dominican improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

New Castle, DE (9/10/11) The Dominican College women's soccer team won their first game of the 2011 season after defeating host, Wilmington University, 3-2 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. With the victory, Dominican improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Dominican was trailing 1-0 when junior midfielder Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) tallied her first of two goals on the day in th 23rd minute of play as she broke away after a WU turnover.
In the 34th minute, a Wildcat foul in box gave the Lady Chargers a penalty kick opportunity and Snyder converted the kick to five DC a 2-1 lead.
DC added to the lead at 73:55, when sophomore forward Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY) netted her first goal of the season for a 3-1 advantage.
A DC hand ball call in the box in the 87th minute, gave WU a penalty kick opportunity which they converted for what would be the final goal of the game and give Dominican the 3-2 victory.
Goalie Kaitlyn Hertz (Voorhees, NJ) made four saves in the victory.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they host Felician College in a CACC contest at 3:30pm on the DC Socer Field.
