EVANS LATE SECOND HALF GOAL LIFTS LADY CHARGERS SOCCER OVER PACE UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, NY (9/2/08) Freshman midfielder Christina Evans (Mahopac, NY) netted her first collegiate goal late in the second half to lift the Dominican College Lady Chargers over the visiting Setters of Pace University, 1-0 this afternoon in a non-conference soccer game at the DC Soccer Field.

The game was scoreless until senior midfielder Shannon Harding (Marlton, NJ) set up Evans with a beautiful pass at 87:48 which Evans was able to put it passed the Setter keeper and into the top left corner of the net.
Dominican out shot Pace University, 9-7 for the game, while the Setters had the edge in corner kicks, 1-0.
Setter keeper Breanna Gault (Oneonta, NY) had for saves in the loss, while Lady Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) also had four saves in her first win of the season.
With the win Dominican evens their record at 1-1, while Pace falls to 0-1 on the year.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Mercy College in a non-conference game, slated to begin at 2:30 pm at the DC Soccer Field.
Pace is also back in action on Saturday as they travel to Caldwell College in a non-conference game which will begin at noon.
