GRELLA RESIGNS AS HEAD WOMEN'S LACROSSE COACH
Orangeburg, N.Y. (5/13/26) Dominican University New York Director of Athletics, Joseph S. Clinton, has announced the resignation of Rob Grella, Head Women's Lacrosse Coach, effective May 15th.
Grella has been at the helm of the Lady Chargers for the past six seasons, winning three Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Tournaments (2023, 2024, 2025) and earning two consecutive (2025, 2026) berths in the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Regional Tournament.
He was named the CACC Coach of the Year four times (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) and for the past four years has coached the CACC Defensive Player of the Year (Erin Carr - 2023, Erin Carr - 2024, Jenna Rigo - 2025, Jenna Rigo - 2026). He has also coached two CACC Rookies of the Year (Grace DeStasio - 2022, Madelyn Grella - 2023), the CACC Goalkeeper of the Year (Kristinamarie Kaszovitz - 2022) and one CACC Player of the Year (Caitlin Costello - 2023).
Grella led the women's lacrosse team to the most wins in a single season in 2025 (19 wins) and the team is currently on a 30-game CACC Regular Season winning streak. He amassed an overall record of 80-17.
I'd like to thank Rob for leading our women's lacrosse program over the past six years," said Clinton. "He elevated the program into one of the best in the East Region and I wish him all the best in the future."
A national search will begin for the program's next head coach.
