#1 SEED LADY CHARGERS ADVANCE TO CACC FINALS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/29/25) The #1 seed Dominican University New York Lady Chargers advanced to the CACC Finals this coming Sunday after defeating #4 seed Georgian Court University in the CACC Semifinals this afternoon on O'Brien Field.
Dominican, ranked #19/24 nationally, improved to 17-1 overall and extends their winning streak to 16 games.
CACC All-Conference Second Team goalkeeper Kristinamarie Kaszovitz picked up her 17th win on the season while making three saves. Goalkeeper Emma Crater also saw action in net for the Lady Chargers.
Dominican started the game on fire scoring the game's first six goals and finished the first quarter with a 9-1 lead.
The Lady Chargers added three more goals in the second quarter and took a 12-2 lead into halftime.
Dominican put a cap on the victory with eight second half goals on their way to the 20-5 win.
Dominican's all-time leading goal scorer and CACC All-Conference First Team player Grace DeStasio scored a team-high six goals while picking up four draw controls and two ground balls.
Madelyn Grella, who also made the All-Conference First Team, recorded a team-high eight points on four goals and four assists. Grella recorded her 400th career point.
Caitlin Costello finished with seven points on three goals and four assists while adding two draw controls. All-Conference player Erica Ortiz filled up the stat sheet with three goals, four assists, and 12 draw controls including the 400th draw control of her career.
Madison Mileti scored two goals and added one assist while Rylie McGhan scored one goal and All-Conference player Sydney Strohmayer also scored one goal.
CACC Defensive Player of the Year Jenna Rigo picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers while All-Conference player Erin Carr also picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Next up is the CACC Finals this coming Sunday on the campus of Georgian Court University. Dominican will take on #2 seed Thomas Jefferson University.
