Hillburn, N.Y. (4/16/16)  The Dominican College women's lacrosse team defeated the visitors of Post University, 18-5, this afternoon on Senior Day at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.

Prior to the start of the game, the team honored seniors #5 Tara Maltbie*, #7 Brittany Kiernan*, #15 Leanne Lavelle and #48 Christina Brennan* in a ceremony held at the 50 yard line.

Dominican opened the game with the first seven goals and led 12 -2 at the intermission.

DC outscored their opponents, 6-3 in the second half for the win.

Senior Brennan (Washington Township, N.J.) led all scorers and tied her career high with six goals and added two assists for a total of eight game points.

Junior Katie Dascher (Valley Stream, N.Y.) added five goals, while Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) contributed three goals and two assists for five points.

Attacker Shayne Gallagher (Blauvelt, N.Y.) netted two goals and two assists, while Amber June (Stony Point, N.Y.) and Brandi Clay (Meriches, N.Y.) had the other DC scores.

Goalie Kiernan (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made nine saves.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-10 overall and 2-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play.

The Lady Chargers will return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they host Felician University this coming Tuesday at the Torne Valley Sports Complex.
