Hillburn, N.Y. (3/30/16) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team was defeated 19-10 as they hosted the Cougars of Caldwell University this afternoon at the Torne Valley Sports Complex in Hillburn.
Caldwell started out strong and lead 8-3 in the first half, but the Lady Chargers would score three goals including a goal and two assists by junior Haliann Fitzgerald (Walden, N.Y.) to trail Caldwell 8-6 at the half.
DC battled in the second half but was outscored 11-4 and would be defeated 19-10.
Fitzgerald led the Lady Chargers with two goals and three assists.
Senior goalkeeper Brittany Kiernan* (Clarkstown, N.Y.) made ten saves during the game.
Dominican will be in action tomorrow night at 7PM when they travel to non-conference opponent, the University of Bridgeport.
