CHESTNUT HILL TO HOST THIS WEEKEND'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE AND MEN'S TENNIS TOURNAMENTS
New Haven, Conn. (4/25/14) It will be busy weekend of the campus of Chestnut Hill College as the Griffins will host the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Tennis and Women’s Lacrosse Championships on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27. #1 South seed Philadelphia University will be looking for its first CACC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Championship since 2009 beginning with its semifinal match against #2 North seed Dominican College at 12 Noon on Saturday. Three of the four participants in this year's final four have claimed a tournament championship, including #2 South seed and two-time defending tournament champion, Holy Family University who will take on #1 North seed and 2010 and 2011 champion Georgian Court University at 2 p.m. The two semifinal winners will battle for the CACC Women's Lacrosse Championship at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 27.
Concordia College will be searching for its fifth-consecutive CACC Men's Tennis Tournament Championship this weekend. The #6 nationally ranked Clippers will be the #1 seed once again in the tournament and will battle Post University at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. Following that match will be semifinal #2 with the hosts, Chestnut Hill, defending their #2 seed against #3 seed University of the Sciences at 1 p.m. The CACC Men's Tennis Championship match and automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament will be contested on Sunday, April 27 at Noon.
The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (NY) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician College, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University, University of the Sciences and Wilmington University.
