WOMEN'S LACROSSE DOWNS POST UNIVERSITY
Orangeburg, NY (4/25/12) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team downed the visiting Eagles of Post University, 22-8, this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played at the DC Lacrosse Field. With the win, Dominican improves to 6-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

With the win, Dominican improves to 6-8 overall and 6-5 in conference play.
Freshman midfielder Gina Sparaco (Freeport, NY) led the team with four goals on the day.
Sophomore Traci Muniz (Middlesex, NJ) recorded three goals and two assists for a total five points.
Dominican scored the first two goals in the first minute of the game as Brianna Blank (Point Pleasant, NJ) netted her 17th goal of the season, while KC Jentzen (Pearl River, NY) tallied her 34th goal of the year.
After an Eagle goal, DC then went on a 3-0 run with senior Aubree Williams* (Great Meadows, NJ) netting two of those goals and Sparaco recording her first goal of the game. Allison Smithwick (Commack, NY) had an assist during the run to give the Lady Chargers a 5-1 lead.
A second Post goal made the score 5-2 and Dominican went on to outscore Post 9-1 over the remaining 21 minutes of the first half to hold a commanding 14-3 at the break.
Post opened up second half scoring with a 2-0 run, but a 5-0 Lady Charger run with two of the goals coming from Smithwick made the score 19-5 with just under 12 minutes remaining. Both teams scored three goals a-piece during the rest of regulation for the final 22-8 Dominican victory.
Blank and Jentzen each added three goals in the win, while Smithwick and Williams each contributed two goals.
Lauren Arnone (Neptune City, NJ), Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY), Caitin Murray (Oadale, NY), Elizabeth Schmidt* (Montgomery, NY) and Carla Gimm* (St. Peter's PA) all scored a goal in the game.
Veronica Iozz (Chester, NJ) spent over 24 minutes in the net and made three saves, while Dominique Labate (Bronx, NY) also made three saves in 35:38 minutes of action.
Dominican returns to action on Sunday as they host Philadelphia University on Senior Day at the DC Lacrosse Field.
