DOMINICAN PLACES THIRD AT GRIFFIN BAKER CLASSIC
Deptford, N.J. (2/1/26) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team placed third at the Griffin Baker Classic from Bowlero Deptford in Deptford, N.J. this weekend.
The two-day baker tournament saw the Lady Chargers finish at the top of the standings after day one but fell to third by the end of day two.
Dominican went 4-1 on the first day defeating St. Thomas Aquinas College, Kutztown University, Adelphi University, and Norfolk State University. Dominican was edged by Delaware State University by seven pins 999-992 in their only loss on day one. Dominican posted scores of 955-992-1,070-921-972 for a total pinfall of 4,910.
On day two, Dominican defeated Alvernia University in match #6 of the tournament for their fifth win on the weekend by a score of 1,041-818.
In the championship bracket, Dominican fell to Delaware State University 4-2 but then finished the weekend with a 4-3 victory over FDU and took third place.
Dominican finished the tournament with a 6-2 record which brings their overall record to 47-26 on the season.
The Lady Chargers return to action on February 13th-15th for the Wildcat DII Invitational.
