LADY CHARGERS FINISH 19TH IN NORTHEAST CLASSIC
New Castle, Del. (1/18/26) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team returned to action for the first time in the 2026 calendar year as they competed in the Northeast Classic hosted by Sacred Heart University.
The Lady Chargers finished in 19th place out of 36 competing schools. Dominican combined record over the three day tournament was 7-6 bringing their overall record to 41-24 on the season.
Day One: The Lady Chargers opened the tournament strong going 4-1 in the baker matches on Friday. Dominican earned wins over St. Thomas Aquinas College and the University of Central Missouri.
Dominican fell to Louisana Tech University in their third match up on the day, but wrapped up day one with two more wins over Norfolk State University and Sam Houston State University where they earned a two pin victory.
The Lady Chargers posted scores of 909-914-857-982-1,001 for a 20th place finish on day one.
Day Two: Dominican improved to 19th place on day two in the team standings.
The Lady Chargers opened day two with a win over host school Sacred Heart University to open the traditional matches, but fell in their next four matches finishing day two 1-4.
DU posted traditional scores of 1,077-938-877-825-861.
Sophomore Kyra Walter was the top finisher for the Lady Chargers in the individual standings posting a total pinfall of 1,013 and placed 34th. Walter had a high game and a team-high 267 game in game one while adding a 184-165-212-185 and averaged a 202.60.
Redshirt sophomore Angelina Tati rolled 203-213-209-170-177 for a total of 972 and an average of 194.40. Sophomore Stephanie O'Malley averaged a 190.00 with a high game of 225 in the fifth match. Freshman Jenna Jump added a 224 game in the opening match.
Day Three: On the final day, Dominican went 2-1 in the baker bracket after defeating Delaware State University by a score of 4-0 and Bryant University 4-3 bringing their total record for the weekend to 7-6 as DU finished in 19th place.
Dominican returns to action on January 31st and February 1st for the Griffin Baker Classic.
