WOMEN'S BOWLING COMPETES AT GARDEN STATE CLASSIC
Howell, N.J. (11/23/25) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team wrapped up the fall portion of ther 2025-2026 season at the Garden State Classic hosted by Monmouth University from Howell Lanes in Howell Township, N.J.
Dominican finished the weekend 8-5 overall bringing their record to 34-18 on the season.
Day One: Dominican opened the weekend with a perfect 5-0 record in the baker matches. The Lady Chargers were the only team out of 12 on the day to go undefeated but sat in second place behind Mount Saint Mary's University who held an 81 total pinfall edge. Dominican posted scores of 983-946-928-992-1,000.
The Lady Chargers defeated Mount St. Mary's University in the opening match and then took down Adelphi University, Holy Family University, host Monmouth University, and Bryant University where they posted their highest team score of the day with 1,000.
Day Two: The Lady Chargers opened day two in second place but fell to fifth place after competing in one baker mach and four traditional matches. Dominican went 2-3 overall on the second day of competition after falling to Mount St. Mary's, Molloy University, and Felician University. DU's two wins came against Long Island University and Bowie State University.
The Lady Chargers posted scores of 882-861-968-880-789. Stephanie O'Malley was the top finisher for the Lady Chargers as she placed 21st overall in the individual standings.
O'Malley 's best game was a 223 which was also a team-high for the tournament. Angelina Tati and Kyra Walter finished back to back in the standings. Tati finished in 31st with a high game of 202 while Walter finished in 32nd with a high game of 209. Jenna Jump finished in 36th place and rolled a high game of 212 in the opening match.
Day Three: Dominican faced off against Morgan State University and Fairleigh Dickinson University in two traditional matches before the best of seven bracket postion round. Morgan State got the best of the Lady Chargers 924-808 in the first match of the final day.
Dominican bounced back against FDU as they defeated the Knights 829-797 and headed into the championship bracket in seventh place with an 8-4 record on the weekend.
Dominican met Adelphi University in the bracket championship where the Panthers defeated the Lady Chargers 4-2 in a best of seven series and DU finished the tournament in eitghth place.
This completes the 2025 fall portion of the women's bowling schedule. The Lady Chargers will continue the season in January at the beginning of the spring semester at the North East Classic from January 16th-18th.
