WALTER TAKES FIRST, LADY CHARGERS FINISH SECOND AT GOLDEN BEAR INVITE
Sinking Springs, Pa. (11/2/25) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team returned to action this weekend at the Golden Bear Invite hosted by Kutztown University.
The Lady Chargers went 5-4 overall in the two day meet as they now hold an overall record of 18-11.
Day One: Sophomore Kyra Walter won the individual title for the second time this season for the Lady Chargers. Walter finished with an average of 216.80 and posted scores of 179-232-219-268-186 for a total pinfall of 1,084.
Walter posted a team-high score of 268 in game four. Redshirt sophomore Angelina Tati had a top five finish coming in fifth place posting scores of 242-219-173-176-157 for a total pinfall of 958 and an average of 191.60.
Sophomore Stephanie O'Malley took 12th place finishing with a total pinfall of 910 which included a 203 game and a 204 game. Junior Caroline Dillon took 16th place while freshman Jenna Jump finished in 17h place. Dillon averaged a 173.80 and had a high game of 198 while Jump averaged 173.60 and had a high game of 192.
The Lady Chargers went 3-1 as a team on day one in the traditional matches. DU defeated Holy Family University, Delaware State University, and Chestnut Hill College but fell to Caldwell University. Dominican recorded a team best and season high 1,013 in their match up agains Chestnut Hill and fiished day one in first place in the team standings.
Day Two: The Lady Chargers opened the baker matches against Kutztown University and Molloy University where they fell in both match ups to open day two.
The Lady Chargers bounced back the next two matches to defeat Coppin State University and Alvernia University.
Dominican faced off against Kutztown University again in the bracket championship. Kutztown defeated the Lady Chargers 4-1 as they rallied to win four straight after the Lady Chargers took the first game of the series.
Dominican returns to actiion next Saturday and Sunday when they host the first CACC meet of the season from New City.
