WALTER FINISHES FIRST AT NJ OPEN
Hackensack, N.J. (10/19/25) The Dominican University New York women's bowling team placed fourth in the team standings at the NJ Open hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University at Bowler City in Hackensack, N.J.
The Lady Chargers went 6-6 for the three day tournament which brings their overall record to 13-7 so far in the early season.
On day one, the Lady Chargers opened the weekend on Friday going 4-1 in the traditional matches.
Dominican defeated Felician University, Chestnut Hill College, Delaware State University, and Caldwell University while their only loss on day one came against Molloy University.
The Lady Chargers posted team scores of 912-906-906-924-886 and finished the day in third place.
Sophomore Kyra Walter finished in first place in the individual standings on Friday after averaging 212.60 for the day.
Walter's high game was a 245 which was a team-high and finished with a sum total of 1,063.
Angelina Tati finished in 13th place rolling a high game of 217 in the second game. Tati averaged 184.60 and had a total pinfall of 923.
Jenna Jump finished in 22nd place while Stephanie O'Malley finished right behind in 23rd place.
Jump's high game was a 210 thrown in each the first and fourth games and averaged a 178.20 while O'Malley rolled a 201 in game three and averaged a 176.80. Caroline Dillon finished in 41st place with an average of 154.60.
Day two was the baker match ups where the Lady Chargers opened the day with a 946-924 victory over LIU. Dominican fell in their next three baker matches to fall to 1-4 on the day and fell into fourth place in the team standings.
Dominican entered day three as the four seed in the bracket championship where they took on Delaware State in the opening match up. The Lady Chargers earned a come from behind 4-3 win into the winners bracket.
The Lady Chargers fell to Monmouth University 4-1 before matching up with Delaware State one more time where they fell 4-3 and finished the tournament in fourth place.
Dominican returns to action on November 1st and 2nd for the Golden Bear Invite.
