LADY CHARGERS DROP CONFERENCE BATTLE TO GRIFFINS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/7/26) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team dropped a back and forth battle to CACC foe Chestnut Hill College this afternoon in the Hennessy Center.
The Lady Chargers fell to the Griffins by a score of 66-58 to drop to 5-17 overall and 3-11 in conference play. The Griffins improve to 12-10 overall and 9-5 in the CACC.
The game saw 13 different lead changes and 10 ties. Dominican held a one-point lead by halftime.
The Griffins extended to a five-point lead in the third quarter and held a 48-44 advantage at the start of the fourth quarter. Both teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter, but the Griffins finished the final three minutes of play on a 10-2 run to secure the 66-58 win.
The Lady Chargers were led by Ketura Rutty who scored a team-high 13 points while pulling down four boards and dished out one assist. Isabella Javier picked up 10 points while adding five rebounds, three steals, and one assist.
Sky Priester scored eight points and shared the team lead in steals with three while Tamia Nunes pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and scored six points.
The Lady Chargers return to action next Wednesday when they visit the Golden Falcons of Felician University for a 5:30 PM tip-off.
