30 S-As NAMED TO 2023-2024 CACC WBB ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

New Haven, Conn. (4/17/24) Thirty (30) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2023-24 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 30 honorees combined to represent 10 CACC schools that compete in the sport.
Three teams that competed in the CACC semifinals combined to earn 17 of the 30 spots on the All-Academic Team including semifinalist Holy Family University leading the way with seven honorees. CACC Champion Thomas Jefferson University had five honorees, while fellow conference finalist, Chestnut Hill College, also produced five student-athletes who made the unit.
Dominican's Angelina DiMarsico was named to the team for the first time.
NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Four student-athletes who made the team posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages including Avery White (Chestnut Hill), Skyler Searfoss (HFU), Post University's Taina Pagan and Pagan's teammate TiJanae Simmons.
♦ Seven student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher -- White, Searfoss, Pagan, Simmons, Lindsey Lane (CHC), Claire Dougherty (HFU), Cassie Murphy (Jefferson) and Post's Amaya Santiago.
♦ Lane, Pagan and Jefferson's Haley Meinel were the three student-athletes who were named to the All-Academic Team for the fourth time in their respective careers.
♦ Six student-athletes were named to the team for the third time.
♦ Six were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
♦ The eight teams to qualify for the CACC post-season tournament combined to have 25 honorees make the all-academic team.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
