SUAREZ'S 25 POINTS LEADS DC TO WIN OVER SCSU

With the win, the Chargers improve to 3-0 on the season. The Owls fall to 1-2 after the loss.
Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) led all scorers with 25 points. Suarez also added four steals, three rebounds, and three assists. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) finished with 20 points including four three-pointers.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) added nine points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) recorded a team-high seven rebounds.
For the Owls, Zoe Amalbert and Jessica Fressle each finished with 16 points. Patricia Conroy scored 14 points. Katie Williamson finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
The Chargers shot 45.6% percent from the field as a team and 46.7% from three-point range.
The game was tied after the opening quarter and the Owls outscored DC in the second quarter 16-12 and held a 31-27 lead at halftime.
The Chargers jumped out in front in the third quarter and never gave up the lead the rest of the way. In the fourth quarter DC extended to their largest lead of the game which was eight.
DC was led by Suarez in the fourth quarter as she led all scorers with 11 points including one three pointer.
The Chargers will be back in action on Friday, November 19th when they host Saint Anselm College at 4:00 PM. The game between DC and Saint Anselm will be the first game of the 8th Annual Regina Rivera Memorial Tournament.
