Lakewood, N.J. (1/12/19) The Lady Chargers fell to the Lions of Georgian Court University by a score of 91-70. With the loss, DC drops to 6-9 (4-2 CACC) on the season. GCU improves to 4-10 (4-2 CACC) with the win.

The first quarter was evenly matched with GCU holding a 22-18 lead to start the second quarter. GCU followed up the first quarter with 30 points in the second quarter and held DC to 20 points to head into halftime with a 52-38 lead.

Korina Guerra (White Plains, N.Y.) led the Lady Chargers in the first half with 11 points and five rebounds. Samantha McClutchy (Washington Township, N.J.) added 10 points.

Jada Atchison and Carna Prokic scored 11 points in the first half for the Lions. Safiyyah Lee contributed 10 points in the first half. Nerea Brajac scored eight points all in the second quarter for GCU.

GCU used a 20-3 run in the third quarter to extend their large lead over the Lady Chargers. GCU finished strong with a solid fourth quarter and sealed the victory. The Lions held the lead for most of the game. GCU's largest lead over the Lady Chargers was 28 points.

The Lions made more than half of their three-point attempts by shooting 57.1% and went 8 for 14 in the game. GCU shot 62.1% from the field and DC shot 34.3%.

Prokic led the Lions in points with 21 and also recorded nine assists and seven rebounds. Atchison contributed 14 points and recorded four assists and four rebounds. Lee finished the game with 16 points and Destiny Thompson scored 13 points and recorded nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

For DC, Guerra led the way with 14 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Naabea-Janaan Assibey-Bonsu (Central Islip, N.Y.) added 12 points while Samantha McClutchy also contributed 12 points for the Lady Chargers. Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) scored eight points and pulled down five rebounds.

The Lady Chargers will return home on Wednesday, January 16th when they host the Clippers of Concordia College for a 5:30 PM tip.
