Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/22/25) The Dominican University New York softball team won game two in their regular season finale with the Chestnut Hill College Griffins.
The Lady Chargers complete the regular season with an overall record of 16-27 and a CACC record of 11-11.
Prior to game one, the Lady Chargers celebrated Senior Day by recognizing their six Seniors.
Seniors: #8 Emma Kaszovitz, #9 Chloe McIntosh, #11 Toni-Jo Lopez, #21 Adriana Barnes, #23 Jalaeya LaPorte, and #41 Giovanna Salcido were all honored with a pregame ceremony.
Game One: The Griffins scored two runs in the sixth inning and then three runs in the seventh inning to complete the 5-2 comeback victory in game one.
Anastasia Watson hit a game tying two-RBI double in the sixth. The go ahead run scored on a fielding error which gave the Griffins the lead. Two insurance runs came in after a single by Skyler Cunningham.
Michelle Baker entered the game in the sixth inning and shut the Lady Chargers out over two innings to pick up the win.
Dominican scored their first run of the game in the third inning and later added their second run on a solo homer by McIntosh.
Nicole Mata finished with two hits while Barnes added a double. Starting pitcher Emily Baxter recorded six strikeouts over seven innings but suffered the loss.
Game Two: The Lady Chargers bounced back in game two with a 3-1 victory.
Starting pitcher Gianna Barbieri earned her third win of the season going six innings of one run ball while recording two strikeouts.
Emily Null entered the game after a leadoff triple in the top of the seventh and closed the door for her first save of the season.
The Lady Chargers got on the board after a two-RBI single by Kaszovitz in the second inning. Kaszovitz later added her second hit of the game and later scored on an RBI-single by Salcido to extend the lead to 3-0.
Kindel Johnson and Emily Angulo each added hits in the win.
Next up for the Lady Chargers is the 2025 CACC Softball Championships opening round.
