COLLINS AND ESPINO EARN CACC WEEKLY SOFTBALL ACCOLADES
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/1/16) Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) and Brianna Espino (Holland, Ohio) have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Wee for the week ending February 28th as was announced yesterday by Commissioner Dan Mara.
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/1/16) Elontay Collins (San Diego, Calif.) and Brianna Espino (Holland, Ohio) have been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Wee for the week ending February 28th as was announced yesterday by Commissioner Dan Mara.
Collins, a junior outfielder, didn't have many at-bats last week (6 total), but she made the most of it by batting .833 with an .833 on-base percentage and a 1.333 slugging percentage. She blasted a home run, while driving in a pair of runs as well. Collins also rounded home to score a pair of runs.
Espino, a rookie second basemen, batted at a .600 clip for the week, including posting a .667 on- base percentage with a pair of runs batted in.
This is their first Weekly Accolades this season.
