New Haven, Conn. (4/29/13) Dominican College, the three-time defending Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Tournament Champion, has once again secured the top seed for the league championship, which will be held at Georgian Court University from Thursday, May 2 to Saturday, May 4.  The Chargers completed the 26-game conference circuit with only one blemish and a 30-18 overall record.

The NCAA East Region second-ranked squad, Caldwell College, has earned the second seed in the eight-team tournament with a conference mark of 23-3 and an overall record of 39-10.  Wilmington University will enter the tournament as the third CACC team with at least 30 wins (32-18) and a 19-7 league tally.  The Wildcats secured the third seed by sweeping Concordia College on Saturday, April 27 including a no-hitter by senior Katie Warrington in game two of the doubleheader. 

The University of the Sciences (23-17), Holy Family University (23-21) and Georgian Court (27-25) completed the season with identical 17-9 records.   Georgian Court posted the best record in the mini-conference amongst the three teams (4-0), while USciences and Holy Family were 1-3.  The Devils were awarded the fifth seed on the strength of its win over Dominican as the Tigers dropped both.  HFU will be the sixth seed.

Bloomfield College (20-19) will be the seventh seed based on its 12-14 conference record.  Another three-way tie for the eighth and final playoff berth was settled between Philadelphia University (19-29), Felician College and Concordia College at 9-17.  In the mini-conference, Philadelphia U. and Concordia were tied at 3-1, while Felician was 0-4 amongst the compared teams.  The tie was broken on the strength of the Rams' win over Georgian Court as the Clippers were winless against the Lions.
