Clermont, Fla (3/6/13) The Lady Charger softball team fell to 2-7 overall after losing two games this afternoon at the National Training Center. Dominican fell to #24 Winona State University 9-5 and lost to Cedarville University, 9-0.

Clermont, Fla (3/6/13) The Lady Charger softball team fell to 2-7 overall after losing two games this afternoon at the National Training Center. Dominican fell to #24 Winona State University 9-5 and lost to Cedarville University, 9-0.
Game One: The Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning of play, but Dominican fought back with three runs in the second inning as senior Kathryn Coles* (Farmville, Va.) hit an RBI ground out and Brielle Kerscher (Staten Island, N.Y.) reached base on an error, which brought home two more runs and made the score 5-3.
DC added a run in the third on a WSU throwing error and tied the game in the fourth on a sacrifice fly ball off the bat of Shelby Wassmann (Loudoun, Va.). The Warriors scored runs in the next three innings to take a 9-5 lead.
The Lady Chargers platted two runs in the seventh on an RBI ground out by Paige Berzak (Cypress, Calif.) and a single from Kimberly Ragazzo (Lawrence, N.J.) for the finla 9-7 loss.
Ragazzo went 3-4 in the game, while shortstop Julie Plante* (Swansea, Mass.) had two hits.
Delaney Childers (Johnstown, Ohio) took the loss (1-3), allowing five runs on five hits in one inning of work. Ragazzo pitched the final five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits.
Game Two: Cedarville University scored all of their runs in the first three innings in the 10-0 victory.
Childers suffered the loss (1-4) in four innings of work.
Dominican will take on Southern Connecticut State University in a double header tomorrow.
