BURBRIDGE AND JEPPSON REACH CAREER MILESTONES IN SWEEP OF CHESTNUT HILL COLLEGE
Philadelphia, PA (4/3/12) Dominican College softball head coach, Joseph Burbridge, and player, Deidre Jeppson, both reached career milestones as the team swept a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) double-header from host, Chestnut Hill College this afternoon. With the sweep, Burbridge earned his 200th career coaching win and Jeppson collected her 200th career hit in game one.

With the sweep, Burbridge earned his 200th career coaching win and Jeppson collected her 200th career hit in game one.
Game One: Jeppson picked up her 200th career hit in the first inning as she singled through the left side. Dominican got on the board with two runs in the third inning as Julie Plante* (Swansea, MA) singled up-the-middle and Jeppson followed with a ground rule RBI double. CACC Player of the Week, Delaney Childers (Johnstown, OH) followed with an RBI single up-the-middle for the 2-0 lead.
Dominican tacked on eight runs in the top half of the seventh inning. Jeppson finished the game, going 3-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Three other Lady Chargers collected two hits a-piece in the win.
Childers improved to 12-5 overall as she collected her eighth shut out victory, scattering just two hits and collecting 10 strikeouts.
Game Two: DC jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings, as Brielle Kerscher (Staten Island, NY), Plante, Jeppson, Childers and catcher Ashley Corrao (Staten Island, NY) all had RBI hits in the inning.
The Lady Chargers added a run in the third inning as Ashley Martinez* (Bloomfield, NJ) had an RBI single to make the score 6-0.
In the fifth inning Dominican tacked on six more runs as Plante hit an RBI double to center field and Jeppson followed with a two-run single. Later Corrao hit a run scoring single to center field and Paige Berzak (Cyress, CA) delivered a two out two-run single to center field for a 12-0 lead and eventual victory.
Katrina Pistilli* (Staten Island, NY) got her fourth shut out win of the season (8-5) and collected her first no-hitter of the season in the five inning victory, while striking out six batters.
With the win, Dominican improves to 18-10 overall and 14-0 in conference play. The second game victory gave Burbridge his 200th career coaching victory and his career at Dominican now stands at 161-84.
DC is back in action tomorrow in a non-conference double-header against the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
