LADY CHARGER SOFTBALL TAKES TWINBILL FROM FELICIAN COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (4/21/09) The Dominican College softball team took a twinbill from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Felician College, this afternoon at Kennedy Park. DC won the first game, 6-3 and won the second game, 8-2.

Game one was scoreless until the third inning when the Lady Chargers tallied three runs on a three-run double to center field by catcher Nicole Scarillo (South Amboy, NJ). DC added two more runs in the fourth on a fielder's choice by Jessica Martinieri (Tampa, FL) and an RBI double to right by junior Nicole Philpot (Dingmans Ferry, PA) to extend the lead to 5-0.
The sixth Lady Charger run came in to score on a muffed Felician throw to put the team up 6-0. FC came back with three runs in the third, but Dominican went on to the 6-3 victory.
CACC Rookie of the Week, Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) got the complete game victory to improve to 13-5 on the season after allowing three runs on eight hits and five strikeouts.
In the nightcap, Dominican held a 5-0 lead after three innings. Senior Jamie Ollari (Hoptacong, NJ) scored the first run in the second on a FC error and junior shortstop Cara Piasecki (Port Monmouth, NJ) hit a three-run blast down the right field line to extend the lead to 4-0 in the third. Senior Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) scored on a wild pitch for the final run of the third inning.
Felician tacked on two runs in the fourth to cut the lead to 6-2, but DC put runs on the board in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings for the 8-2 victory. A Golden Falcon error allowed Scarillo to score in the fifth and Piasecki delivered and RBI single in the sixth. A solo blast by junior Danielle Garrison (Coatesville, PA) put the final run on the board in the top of the seventh.
Garrison got the complete game victory (11-3), allowing just two runs on five hits and three strikeouts.
Dominican improves to 29-12 overall and 15-2 in the CACC, while Felician falls to 9-20 overall and 6-16 in the CACC.
