SOFTBALL TURNS BACK BENTLEY COLLEGE AT NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER GAMES
Clermont, FL (3/12/09) The Dominican College softball team won their first game of the 2009 season after turning back Bentley College, 4-1 this morning at the National Training Center Games.

Senior Sarah Beck (Milton, NY) got the offense rolling for the Lady Chargers with a two out RBI single in the top of the first. Freshman Deidre Jeppson (Sylmar, CA) had an RBI single of her own in the top of the seventh to give DC a 2-0 lead.
Junior Nicole Philpot (Dingmans Ferry, PA) added two more runs in the seventh with a single to complete a three hit game. Bentley added a run in the bottom of the seventh as DC went on to the 4-1 victory.
Freshman pitcher Katrina Pistilli (Staten Island, NY) picked up her first collegiate win in the complete game effort to improve to 1-2 on the season. She scattered just five hits and recorded two strikeouts.
With the win the Lady Chargers improve to 1-2 on the season.
Dominican is back in action tomorrow at the National Training Center games when they take on Assumption College in a double-header slated to begin at 1:30 pm.
