COMEBACK FALLS SHORT AS CHARGERS FALL TO TIGERS IN FIVE SETS
Princeton, N.J. (2/28/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team had their comeback fall short against the Tigers of Princeton University this afternoon falling in five sets.
The Chargers fall to 4-11 overall while the Tigers improve to 3-7 on the season after the win.
Dominican fell behind 2-0 after two sets and bounced back with a 27-25 win in the third set to get on the board.
The Chargers followed up their win in the third set with a 25-22 win in the fourth set despite a late push by the Tigers to force a decisive fifth set.
Both teams traded points early on in the fifth set, but it was the Tigers who used a 9-3 run to finish off the the 15-9 win and secured the match 3-2.
Phinehas Wiley led the way for the Chargers with 15 kills while picking up 11 digs. Ayden Shaw and Tommaso Falchi each recorded 12 kills.
Shaw added one service ace, two block assists, and six digs. Falchi had a team-high five total block, one solo and four block assists.
Hunter Paio picked up 11 kills while Jackson Shaw finished with nine kills and nine digs. Seth Terry had a match-high 47 assists.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow afternoon when they visit George Mason University.
