#3 SEEDED CHARGERS FALL IN ECC SEMIFINALS TO #2 SEEDED REDHAWKS
Sparkill, N.Y. (4/18/25) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell in their semifinal match of the 2025 ECC Men's Volleyball Championships to the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University this afternoon.
Hosted by #1 seed St. Thomas Aquinas College, the #3 seeded Chargers fell to the #2 seeded Redhawks in three sets.
RWU opened the match with a 25-16 win in the first set highlighted by a 14-7 run to end the set. The Redhawks took the second match 25-17 after opening on a 10-3 run.
The third set was a back and forth battle that included four ties along the way. The Chargers were unable to take a lead in the set as the Redhawks completed the sweep with a 25-22 victory.
All-Conference player Ayden Shaw led the Chargers in kills with six and added two digs. ECC Co-Rookie of the Year Blake Krapf added five kills along with one service ace and two digs.
All-Conference player Tommaso Falchi recorded two total blocks while Daniel Malcolm recorded three kills and a team-high three block assists.
Jamel Toste recorded a team-high 10 assists while Jaiden Wilcox finished with eight. Tyler Roukey recorded a team-high five digs.
The Chargers finish the 2025 season with an overall record of 6-22 going 3-3 in East Coast Conference play (ECC).
