CHARGERS FALL TO STAC IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE
Sparkill, N.Y. (4/12/25) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell to East Coast Conference (ECC) rival St. Thomas Aquinas College in the 2025 regular season finale.
The Chargers finish the 2025 regular season with an overall record of 6-21 and an ECC record of 3-3. The Spartans complete the regular season at 14-9 overall and a perfect 6-0 in the ECC as they secured the regular season title.
STAC led most of the way in the first set on their way to the 25-17 victory. The Spartans used a 6-0 run in the second set to take the lead and the Chargers answered as they closed the gap but STAC closed out the 25-18 win for a 2-0 advantage.
STAC jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the third set but the Chargers answered with a 6-0 run. The third set was a battle between both teams but the Spartans scored the last three points to take the set 27-25 and complete the sweep.
Blake Krapf finished with a team-high seven kills while adding three digs and one block assist. Daniel Malcolm recorded six kills while adding four total blocks, one solo and three block assists, for a team-high 8.5 points.
Sebastian Rodriguez also finished with four total blocks with two solo and two block assists. Gavin Tate recorded three block assists while Ayden Shaw picked up a team-high seven digs and Jamel Toste added 14 assists.
