CHARGERS TRACK AND FIELD COMPETE AT TCNJ INVITATIONAL
Ewing, N.J. (4/12/25) The Dominican University New York men's track and field squad competed yesterday and today at the TCNJ Invitational, hosted by The College of New Jersey.
Aaron Williams had a second place finish in the 200m dash, while Jeffrey Li Rivera also had a second place finish in the 100m hurdles.
In the 100m dash, Williams took fourth place for the other top five finish.
SATURDAY'S RESULTS
- Freshman Aaron Williams had a high finish of second place in the 200m dash with a time of 22.39. Thiea Shea took sixth place (22.88), Samuel Fileen finished 14th (23.38), Maurice Douglas took 26th place (24.05) and Jameel Richardson ran a time of 24.55 to finish in 37th place. Sam Samala finished in 41st place with a time of 24.90, while Jean Franco Del Valle Guerrero took 46th place with a time of 26.53.
- Jeffrey Li Rivera also had a second place finish in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.27. Guerror finished in fifth place with a time of 16.62.
- Williams took fourth place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.23. The preliminaries of the event saw Williams take fourth place with a time of 11.12 and M. Douglas finishing in 17th place with a time of 11.44.
- In the 400m dash, Fileen finished in seventh place with a time of 51.53. Samala took 44th place with a time of 57.54, while Steven Hanna finished in 46th place with a time of 58.16. Richardson took 50th place with a time of 59.84.
- Deshawn Douglas competed in the 800m run and took 15th place with a time of 2:07.68, while Prince Copeland finished in 16th place with a time of 2:08.72.
- Rivera finished in 18th place in the long jump with a jump of 5.48m (17' 11.75").
- The 1500m run saw D. Douglas take 28th place with a time of 4:20.07 and Aidan Nelson finishing in 46th place with a time of 4:36.64. Zachary Dertinger took 59th place with a time of 5:11.95 with Eslian Henriquez Flores taking 60th place with a time of 5:22.00.
FRIDAY'S RESULTS
- Nelson took sixth place in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:02.88.
- In the 5000m run, D. Douglas finished in eighth place with a time of 16:46.77. Dertinger took 11th place with a time of 18:29.98, while Flores finished in 12th place with a time of 19:55.73.
