MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD FINISH EIGHTH AT CACC CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lakewood, N.J. (5/14/21) The Dominican College men's track and field team finished in eighth place at the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track and Field Championship held today at the GCU Track and Field Complex and hosted by Georgian Court University.

Lakewood, N.J. (5/14/21) The Dominican College men's track and field team finished in eighth place at the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track and Field Championship held today at the GCU Track and Field Complex and hosted by Georgian Court University. 

The Chargers compiled a team score of 23 for the eight place finish among the 12 competing teams.

The 4x100m relay team of Ezra Evans (Greensboro, N.C.), Dariel Suarez (North Bergen, N.J.), Hector DeLorenzo (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) and Brian Thompson (North Bergen, N.J.) took third place in the event with a time of 43.17.

Freshman Kenney Lauredent (Pomona, N.Y.) took fourth place in the triple jump event with a jump of 13.98m (45 feet, 10.93 inches).  He also had a fourth place finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.49m (21 feet, 3.51 inches). 

Evans and DeLorenzo also both competed in the long jump where they finished in 10th and 12th place respectively with jumps of 5.85m (19 feet, 2.31 inches) and 5.65m (18 feet, 6.44 inches).

In the 4x400m relay, the team of Cruz, Olatunji Adweole (North Plainfield, N.J.), Whitton and Suarez finished in sixth place overall with a time of 3:35.37.

The 200m dash saw Evans finish in seventh place with a time of 22.74.  Suarez and Thompson took 11th and 12th place with times of 23.81 and 24.28.

Lawrence Ribiero (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) took part in the hammer throw and finished in seventh place with a throw of 24.05m (78 feet, 10.85 inches).

In the shot put event, freshman Louis Rodriguez (Monsey, N.Y.) finished in ninth place with a throw of 11.61m (38 feet, 1 inch) and Ribiero (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) finished in 19th place with a throw of 8.85m (29 feet).

Thompson finished in 10th place in the 100m dash with a time of 11.43, while Evans tied for 11th place with a time of 11.47.  Suarez had a time of 11.58 to take 16th place.

Jaylen Cruz (Middletown, N.Y.) took 12th place in the 400m dash after a time of 53.74.

Rodriguez also competed in the discus throw where he took 15th place with a throw of 28.43m (93 feet 3.29 inches).

In the 800m run, Cameron Whitton (Monroe, N.Y.) ran a time of 2:06.95 to finish in 16th place.
