Monsey, N.Y. (4/24/21) The Dominican College men's tennis team improved to 3-5 overall and 3-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after defeating the visiting Devils of the University of the Sciences, 6-1 in a match played today at Manny Welder Park.
Monsey, N.Y. (4/24/21) The Dominican College men's tennis team improved to 3-5 overall and 3-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after defeating the visiting Devils of the University of the Sciences, 6-1 in a match played today at Manny Welder Park.
Dominican won the doubles point by taking the first and second doubles, while winning the third doubles by default. Angel Lugo (Valencia, Venezuela) and Marcos Lee (New York, N.Y.) picked up the 6-3 win, with Anthony Kwok (Floreal, Mauritius) and Guilherme Salim (Brasilia, Brazil) won 6-1.
Salim earned the 6-4, 6-2 win in first singles and Tanaka Chabata (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) won his match at third singles by the scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Kwok defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-0 in fourth singles, while Lugo won his match 6-1, 6-2 in fifth singles.
Qalib Bahadurali Ladhani (Guelph, Ontario) won by default in sixth singles.
DC is slated to travel to Thomas Jefferson University on Monday afternoon in the regular season finale.
