Sparkil, N.Y. (9/7/25) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team fell in non-conference action today to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College on Spartan Field.
The Chargers fall to 0-1-1 overall while the Spartans improve to 1-1 overall.
The scoring didn't start until the second half after STAC got on the board 10 minutes into the half with a Jerry Tagliavia goal. STAC extended their lead to 2-0 after Mika Leue scored an unassisted goal in the 89th minute. Christian Ferlisi picked up an assist on the first goal.
Chargers goalkeeper David Arteaga suffered the loss as he drops to 0-1-1 overall on the year. Arteaga made 10 saves in the game with eight in the first half.
STAC keeper Dante Muntane made four saves and recorded the shutout victory.
STAC took a total of 20 shots while the Chargers took a total of seven shots.
Nichlas Thulin Kamfjord led the Chargers in shots with three. Zachary Nudel added two shots.
The Chargers will return to action on Wednesday night when they visit Queens College for a non-conference battle at 7:00 PM.
