Orangeburg, N.Y. (4/11/21) The Dominican College men's soccer team hosted the Clippers of Concordia College for the 2021 CACC Men's Soccer Championships Final.
The #2 seeded Clippers defeated the #1 seeded Chargers by a score of 3-1 to clinch the 2021 Conference title.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 4-1 (3-1 CACC) on the season.
Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) started in goal for the Chargers and made five saves.
Dario Giovanni Cruz started in goal for Concordia and made two saves.
Both teams scored one goal each in the first half. The Clippers scored first when Amadou Sy scored and was assisted by Ian Lamas.
DC tied the game when Guilherme Pirana (Jundiai, Brazil) scored an unassisted goal.
The Clippers extended regained the lead in the second half when Amadou Sy scored his second goal of the game. Dennis Limani extended the lead with a goal with less than 20 minutes remaining in the game. The goal was assisted by Lorenz Behrendt.
The score would not change for the rest of the game and the Clippers secured the win.
