Lakewood, N.J. (3/23/21) The Dominican College men's soccer team improved to 3-0 with an overtime win over Georgian Court University.
The Chargers improve to 3-0 (3-0 CACC) and GCU falls to 1-3 (1-3 CACC).
Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) recorded one save in the win for the Chargers and Jamie Hickey recorded two saves for GCU.
Maximino Casares Martinez (Ciudad De Panama, Panama) led the Chargers in shots with five and scored both goals to help lift DC to victory.
Louis Silva took a team-high three shots in the game.
The first half was a scoreless tie with the Chargers recording six shots in the half. The Lions took seven total shots in the opening half.
In the second half, the game remained scoreless until the 77:59 mark when Maximino Casares Martinez broke the tie and gave DC the 1-0 lead.
GCU came back to tie the game at 83:43 when Tommaso Rio scored which sent the game into overtime.
Martinez scored his second goal of the game in overtime to lift the Chargers over GCU by a score of 2-1.
The Chargers will be back in action on Friday, March 26th when they host Nyack College at 2:00 PM.
