RALLY FALLS SHORT AS CHARGERS LOSE TO GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE

Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/8/16) The Dominican College men's soccer team pulled within a goal in the 85th minute but wasn't able to tie the game as they fell to the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on the DC Soccer Field.

(10/8/16)  The Dominican College men's soccer team pulled within a goal in the 85th minute but wasn't able to tie the game as they fell to the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played on the DC Soccer Field.

The Lightning (7-3-1, 5-2 CACC) netted goals in the ninth minute and 32nd minute of play to take a 2-0 lead at the break.

Dominican rallied with a goal at 85:52 as James Gragson (Topeka, Kan.) netted his third goal of the season off the pass from Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain) to cut the deficit to 2-1.  DC had a corner kick in the 88th minute, but was unable to get a shot off as GBC held on for the win.

GBC held the 9-8 advantage in shots, while the Chargers had seven corner kicks to two for the Lightning.

Keeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) made two saves in the loss.

The Chargers (4-8, 3-4 CACC) will travel to Caldwell University this coming Tuesday.
