RALLY FALLS SHORT AS MEN'S SOCCER LOSES TO CONCORDIA COLLEGE

Bronxville, N.Y. (9/13/16) The Dominican College men's soccer team rallied to net three consecutive goals, but it wasn't enough as the Concordia College Clippers defeated them 4-3 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at Holtdorf Soccer Field.

Bronxville, N.Y. (9/13/16)  The Dominican College men's soccer team rallied to net three consecutive goals, but it wasn't enough as the Concordia College Clippers defeated them 4-3 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at Holtdorf Soccer Field.

Concordia scored two goals in the first half and added two more in the second to take the 4-0 lead. 

Dominican got on the scoreboard in the 72nd minute when freshman forward Sergio Monton (Madrid, Spain) netted a goal off a headed cross and followed three minutes later witha penalty kick goal.

At the 87 minute mark, midfielder Santiago Luna (Tijuana, Mexico) scored his first goal of the season on a one touch shot off the headed pass from Fernando Gutierrez (Mexico City, Mexico) to cut the lead to 4-3.

The Chargers got the final shot of the game at the 89:04 mark, but the shot went wide.

Monton led Dominican with five shots on goal in the game.

Keeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) made five saves in the loss.

DC falls to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

The team returns to the field on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Holy Family University.
