GUTIERREZ LIFTS MEN'S SOCCER OVER UNIVERSITY OF BRIDGEPORT

Bridgeport, Conn. (9/8/16) Junior forward Fernando Gutierrez (Mexico City, Mexico) netted the game-winning goal just 1:28 into the game to lead the Dominican College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the University of Bridgeport this evening in the second game of the University of Bridgeport Classic.

Bridgeport, Conn. (9/8/16)  Junior forward Fernando Gutierrez (Mexico City, Mexico) netted the game-winning goal just 1:28 into the game to lead the Dominican College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over the University of Bridgeport this evening in the second game of the University of Bridgeport Classic.

Gutierrez recieved the cross from senior James Gragson (Topeka, Kansas) and proceeded to record his second goal of the season on a great strike that found the net.

Gutierrez finished the game with two shots on goal for the game.

UB had the edge in shots, 17-15, while the Chargers held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior keeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) made six saves in his first shut out of the season.

DC is back in action at the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon as they take on LIU Post University at 4pm.
