Lakewood, N.J. (10/11/14) The Dominican College men's soccer team improved to 7-3-1 overall and 5-2-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after defeating host, Georgian Court University, 1-0, this afternoon.
The game was scoreless until the 61st minute when junior Ghrelle Francis (La Brea, Trinidad and Tobago) netted his first foal of the season off the assist from Mark Grant (Tokoyo, Japan) for the game-winner.
Keeper Steven Hegner (Pomona, N.Y.) made four saves and posted his fourth shut out in the victory.
GCU had the edge in shots, 11-10, while the Chargers had the 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Grant had two shots on goal for Dominican.
DC will return to action on October 18th when they host Wilmington University at 2:30 pm on the DC Soccer Field.
