DOMINICAN DEFEATS MERCY IN OVERTIME THRILLER

(9/30/14) Senior midfielder Christopher Walsh (Baldwin, N.Y.) netted the game-winning goal in the 97th minute of action to lift the Dominican College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Mavericks of Mercy College in non-conference action played at the DC Soccer Field.

DC tied the score in the 44th minute as Fernando Gonzalez (Heretia, Costa Rica) on a shot from six yards out after a pass from Calogero Curcuru (Middle Village, N.Y.).
At the 97:53 mark, Walsh carried to the middle of the field and scored the overtime winner on a strike from 20 yards out.
The Chargers controlled the offensive side of the game, outshooting their opponents, 18-5 and having an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
