SETTERS TURN BACK MEN'S LACROSSE
Pleasantville, N.Y. (3/2/16) The Pace University men's lacrosse team turned back the visiting Setters of Pace University, 18-5, this afternoon in a non-conference game played at Pace Stadium. Following the loss Dominican falls to 1-2 on the season, while the Setters improve to 2-1.

Pace scored the first two goals of the game, but Dominican got on the scoreboard with 8:54 remaining in the first quarter on a man-up opportunity as freshman midfielder David Arent (Huntington Beach, Calif.) netted his first goal of the game off the assist from Blake Israel (Parkland, Fla.). Following another 2-0 spurt by the Setters, attacker Shaun Palmer (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored a goal to make the score 4-2 with 1:44 remaining in the quarter. Pace ended the quarter with a goal for the 5-2 advantage.
The second quarter belonged to the Setters as they netted seven unanswered goals to increase their lead to 12-2. Senior Conor Reeves* (Tappan, N.Y.) broke the run with a goal off the assist from Palmer as DC went into the locker room trailing 12-3.
Dominican's lone goal of the third stanza came off the stick of Arent on another man-up opportunity with a little under three minutes remaining to make the score 15-4 and the Setters closed out the frame with a goal for a 16-4 advantage.
In the final quarter, Pace netted to goals while Palmer recorded the final goal of the game off the pass from Evan Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) for the final 18-5 score.
Arent finished with two game goals, while Palmer tallied two goals and one assist in the loss.
Carlos Villaman (Montgomery, N.Y.) made 13 saves in 31:13 minutes of action, while Joseph Fabiilli (Glen Head, N.Y.) had seven saves in 23:47 minutes of play.
Matthew Sandelier (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) had one save in the final five minutes.
The Chargers return to action on Friday night as they open East Coast Conference (ECC) play on the road at the University of the District of Columbia.
