CHARGERS OUTLAST GRIFFINS IN CACC ACTION
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/7/26) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team outlasted the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in a CACC contest in the Hennessy Center.
Dominican defeated the Griffins 82-75 to improve to 9-13 overall and 6-8 in the CACC. The Griffins fall to 7-14 overall and 5-9 in the conference after the loss.
The Griffins led 43-35 at halftime. Dominican completed the comeback win after putting up 47 points in the second half while shooting 51.7% in the half.
Dominican used a 13-4 run to take a four-point lead seven minutes into the second half. The score remained close down the stretch and when leading by three points with less than one minute to play, back to back steals and buckets by Key'Sean Maynard and Elijah Peters sealed the 82-75 victory.
The Chargers finished the game shooting 53.7% from the field for the game. Dominican earned 19 key point from the free-throw line and outscored the Griffins 40-24 in the paint.
Peters finished the game with 14 points and three rebounds while Maynard finished with 13 points six assists and three steals. Koi D. Kirk, Jr. added 10 points and pulled down six boards while Javel Cherry added nine points including going 2-3 from three-point range.
Dimitre Alston picked up eight points while Isaiah Honis and Chance Morrish each finished with seven points. Honis added team-highs in rebounds with 12 and assists with seven.
Tyler Lingham and Michael O'Mahony each scored six points.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday when the visit Felician University for an 8:00 PM tip-off.
